SINNER'S DAY 2018 in collaboration with STUDIO BRUSSEL
This year the annual high mass of new wave and punk is going to face a special edition since 2018 is the year in which new wave celebrates its 40th birthday. And with its fifth edition Sinner's Day has an additional reason to celebrate. For the first time the event will take place at the Limburghal in Genk on Saturday December the 1st. Reason enough to make it special ...
Although new wave and punk may have reached a respectable age, these days young and passionate musicians are still very much inspired by it. That’s why Sinner's Day 2018 not only focuses on timeless classics such as John Cale, Gang of Four, Claw Boys Claw and GBH, it will also be featuring some bands of the new generation such as Cocaine Piss and Whispering Sons.
And did we mention proto-punk Wayne Kramer (MC5) will be playing the complete legendary 'Kick out the Jams' album? Supported by supergroup MC50 with members of Soundgarden and Fugazi? Well, now we did!
And there’s another novelty: one of the two stages will be exclusively dedicated to Belgian acts. After all anybody who knows the history of Belgian music is aware of the fact that our country played (and still plays!) a key role in new wave/nouvelle vague.
